Physics Homework Help
Physics AI Solver
Solve Physics Problems, Learn Concepts, and Get Concise step-by-step Help from your Physics AI Tutor.

Upload your assignment above, or type one question at a time, and Physicstan works through it with you. Photos of a worksheet, a PDF from your professor, a textbook page, or your own handwriting all work.
The homework interface starts in the mode built for assignments: it emphasises the physical principle behind each question, the assumptions being made, the equations used, and units carried through, without turning into a lecture. Ask a follow-up on any step and the conversation keeps its context.
If you have already attempted a question, use Check My Work and it will find the earliest point where your reasoning actually breaks rather than replacing your method with its own.
What this is for, and what it is not
This is for understanding an assignment you have to hand in. It is not a ghostwriting service, and it will not pretend to be your homework.
The distinction matters more in physics than in most subjects. You are eventually going to sit an exam with no tools, and every problem set is practice for that. A solution you did not follow is worth nothing in May. So the design here pushes toward following the reasoning: the setup is separated from the algebra, assumptions are listed where you can question them, and every step carries a short note on why it exists.
Your school’s academic integrity policy is the one that governs you. Checking your own work, getting a concept explained, and being guided to an answer you then write yourself is normal studying almost everywhere. Submitting a generated solution as your own usually is not. When you are unsure, ask your instructor before you submit rather than after.
The situations this handles
A whole problem set with a deadline. Upload it, then take the questions one at a time. Working through them individually gives far better answers than dumping ten questions in one message, and it is the only version that teaches you anything.
A question where you cannot even start. The block is almost always the setup rather than the maths. Which forces go on the body, which conservation law applies, which direction is positive. Physicstan writes that interpretation out before touching the algebra.
A finished answer you are not confident about. Paste your working. Check My Work preserves valid alternative approaches and identifies the first genuinely wrong step, then tells you whether the errors after it are just consequences of that one.
A marked assignment you got back with a red cross and no explanation. Type the problem and your answer and ask what went wrong. This is one of the most useful things you can do with it and one of the least used.
A diagram you are not sure you drew correctly. Photograph your free body diagram and ask which forces are missing or pointing the wrong way. Research on physics students keeps finding that most do not draw one at all, and that the ones who do perform better.
Homework at 1am. Office hours closed hours ago. This does not.
Homework help that costs more than you have. Subscription answer libraries are a standing complaint among students, and they often return someone else’s uploaded solution rather than an explanation of your specific question. You get 10 free credits here to find out whether the explanations are useful before deciding anything.
How a question actually gets answered
Every response comes back structured rather than as a paragraph of prose:
- What the question is asking, restated
- Known quantities with symbols, values and units
- What you are solving for
- Assumptions, written out explicitly
- The governing principle and why it applies here
- The equation, rearranged before substitution
- Worked steps with a one-line reason for each
- The final answer
- Independent checks that ran, marked passed or failed
- A common mistake related to this problem type
- Validated interactive visuals with Play/Pause controls when the topic supports them
- Copy notes and Print / Save PDF actions for keeping the complete answer as revision notes
If the question is missing information it needs, it tells you which quantity is missing rather than inventing one. If your handwriting or photo is ambiguous, it states what it thinks the question says and asks you to confirm before solving the wrong problem, which is a failure mode worth avoiding when a deadline is close.
Where arithmetic can be verified, our server recalculates it separately from the language model and reports whether the check passed. That covers calculation slips, which is where general chatbots most often quietly go wrong on physics. It does not certify that the physics was right. The accuracy page explains exactly what is and is not checked.
Working through an assignment
A sensible order for a problem set:
- Read the whole set first and identify which questions you can already do.
- Attempt every question yourself, even badly. A wrong attempt is much more useful input than a blank one.
- Bring the ones you are stuck on here, one at a time, saying where you got stuck.
- Use Check My Work on the ones you finished but are unsure about.
- Before you close the tab, cover the solution and redo one question from scratch. If you cannot, you have not finished.
That last step is the one that separates using this well from using it badly.

All three share one account, one credit balance and one conversation history, and you can switch between them mid-conversation.
Credits and privacy
Verify your email and you get 10 free credits. One substantive request costs one credit. Failed requests are not charged, and rereading an old conversation costs nothing. Plans are on the pricing page.
Uploaded homework is stored outside the public media library and removed automatically after a retention period. Conversations are private records tied to your account, never published or indexed. You can delete any of them yourself.
Common questions
Can I upload a whole PDF assignment? Yes, JPG, PNG, WebP and PDF are all accepted. You will get noticeably better answers working through it question by question rather than asking for all of it at once.
Will it just give me the answers? It will give you the full solution if you ask for it. Whether that helps depends on what you do next. Tutor mode exists for when you would rather be guided.
Does it cost a credit per question or per assignment? Per substantive request. A ten-question problem set worked through individually uses roughly ten credits, more if you ask follow-ups.
Can it read my handwriting? Usually, if the photo is in focus and reasonably lit. If it cannot read something confidently it will tell you what it thinks it says and ask.
What if it gets a question wrong? Push back in the conversation and ask it to re-derive or use a different method. There is a thumbs down and a Report button on every answer. If an answer looks wrong to you, that instinct is usually right and worth following.
Is this cheating? Your institution decides. Understanding, checking and being guided is normally fine. Submitting generated work as your own normally is not. Do not use it during a graded test unless you have been explicitly told outside tools are allowed.
Does it handle college physics homework? First and second year material, generally yes. Upper-division and specialised courses are less reliable and should be checked against your own course materials.
Can it help with lab reports? It can discuss uncertainty, propagation of error and significant figures. It cannot analyse your raw data file or write the report.
Will my instructor be able to tell? The more useful question is whether you could reproduce the solution in an exam room. If not, the assignment has not done its job regardless of what mark it gets.
